A NEW BEGINNING:

REBUILDING THE FOUNDATION

Ezra 2:68 – 3:13

In returning to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple, the Jews were able to resume worship according to the law of Moses. In what ways do you need to rebuild the foundations of your own worship before God?

·      Is there sin you need to confess and repent of? Start there.

·      The Jews left their homes unprotected to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the feasts of the Lord. In what ways does your worship need to be more vulnerable and reliant upon God?

·      In Ezra 3:11 the people praised the Lord “For He is good.” How has the Lord been good to you? In what ways have you thanked Him?

·      They also noted that “His lovingkindness endures forever.” In what ways have you experienced this?

·      Some were disappointed by the smallness of the new temple’s foundation. Have you experienced disappointments with the church? Have you responded with hope or despair in such times? Which response better honors the Lord?

·      In what ways can you better prepare for worship and praise for future Sunday’s?
